Role & Responsibilities

Each of the Victim Crisis Assistance & Referral Services (VCARS) sites operating in the Province of Ontario is governed by their own Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors is citizen based in approach and acts in a governance capacity rather than in a front line, direct service capacity.

The Board of Directors is responsible for developing policies that define and establish the organizational aims and outcomes. They strive to ensure that the organization's objectives are being achieved through regular monitoring. It is also the Board's responsibility to oversee the following areas: human resources, fiduciary responsibility, risk management, resource management, strategic planning and overall accountability of the organization
